NYFW Recap

New York Fashion Week – Spring 2014 Recap

So many things going on in my life at the moment that I don’t have enough time to post as much as I want to but hopefully I will find a way because I really enjoy expressing myself and considering this as my personal board of inspiration helps me to maintain my creative mood.

Anyway, so back to the point!

It’s a wrap for NYFW – Spring 2014 and this weekend I managed to check all the collections and select some of my favourite pieces for the next Spring season.

Hervé Léger

Where should I start? Well, this brand has been one of my favourite since I saw the Victoria Beckham in this purple dress for the Marc Jacobs collection back in 2008…I think from there my passion for bandage dresses started. Their collections always describe my style with the stretchy materials that define my curves in a sexy and classy way.

This year’s collection is about monochrome and geometrics shapes. Combining both of them brings something new for the next season. The leather and zippers elements look amazing, I absolutely love the collection!

Oscar de la Renta

Love the fact that the 40’s shape and style are back and it never looked better! When it comes to keep it classy I always look back at the designs of the golden age of Hollywood to get inspired and these designs are made to be luxurious and feminine.

Zac Posen

I haven’t seen too many designs of Zac Posen but his collection from last and next year are fabulous! It reminds me of the 80’s era with the huge, dramatic ruffles and pastel colours.

J. Mendel

New to me but great collection with a modern touch. Love the colours, specially the dark red and pale peach , the embroidery and the shape of the cocktail dresses.

Ralph Lauren

I wouldn’t describe Ralph Lauren as my style but I really like some of the pieces from this collection.

Marchesa

The shapes and embroidery are great. Elegant and feminine.

Altuzarra

I absolutely love the silk/metallic material! Such a great way to stand out from the crowd and they definitely brought something different to this year show.

DKNY

90’s vibes all the way! Absolutely gorgeous, urban style inspired from my favourite decade. From the decoration to a very sporty and comfortable collection, they influenced that style perfectly.

Marc Jacobs

We see again the monochrome colours but this time with different forms and materials. Silk is one of my favourite material and designed for casual clothes is something new.Marc Jacobs
